Fixed Costs Calculator
Works out fixed recoverable costs under CPR 45 for the fast and intermediate tracks, for pre October 2023 fast track personal injury claims, and for MOJ Portal and OIC claims. It applies the Part 36 consequences on acceptance and at judgment, including the enhanced interest and the additional amount, handles disbursements and VAT, includes a credit hire and storage calculator, shows you the text of every rule it relies on, and produces a draft order in Word.
It runs in the browser, works on a phone, and can be added to a home screen and used offline.
What is coming
More of the same: the small, tedious calculations that come up often enough to be worth automating and are fiddly enough to be worth getting right. If there is something you find yourself working out by hand every week, tell my clerks and I will look at it.
A word of caution
These are tools, not advice. They are built from the Civil Procedure Rules and the Practice Directions as they stood when I last checked them, and the rules change. Check the figure against the current rules before you rely on it in a live matter, and tell me if you think something is wrong.
